Born in New York City, Johnny Fontana always had a passion for music. Stemming from over 16 years of collecting a vast amount of vinyl and an innate obsession with all forms of music, Fontana became deeply inspired by the thriving underground scene of New York Hip Hop and R&B. At just 14, he took to the decks to cultivate the uniquely diverse sound he is known for today. While he started out listening to New York’s underground radio stations throughout the 5 boroughs, it was not long before he started churning out mix tapes for the local scene.

Unfortunately his dream came to a pause as he sold his 2 turntables and enlisted into the United States Marine Corps. Having began a new life thinking he had left his unpolished talent behind, little did he know that he was soon about to embark on a new worldly experience. Fontana’s first international gig was in 2000 for New Year’s Eve Hip Hop event at Twister’s Café in the city of Hiroshima while stationed at Marine Corp Air Base Iwakuni, Japan. While there, he became a resident at club “Underground” and held regular guest spots at local nightclubs in Yokohama and Osaka. His talent as a DJ was fully recognized from 2003 onwards after converting to the world of house. Fontana began incorporating elements of soulful lounge, progressive sunset, Latin- Brazilian funk, deep/groovy soul tech, and funky tech house into his unique DJ style From 2001-2004,

Fontana went on to work for the US Embassies (Department of State) in Riga Latvia and Yangon Myanmar (formerly Rangoon, Burma) where his “moonlighting” talent afforded him guest spots at Nautilus Night Club (Riga), Bed Supperclub (Bangkok), BME 1 and 2 (Myanmar). During these performances playing in the best of world night clubs, Fontana shared the decks with international talent like Pablo Ceballos from (Chus and Ceballos), Jerry Ropero, Dj Raivis, Dj Norsky, DJ Gusavito, Milk&Sugar, Junior Jack & Kid Crème, and more…

Now residing in Miami, Florida, Fontana currently holds a residency at the world renowned Segafredo Café L’Originale on Lincoln rd. He has had and continues to appear at high end venues such as Nikki Beach, Cameo, Karu and Y, Vagabond, Casa Casaurina (formerly Versace Mansion) and others. He has played along side local talent such as Patrick M (Club Space Miami) Johnny Ramirez, Dj Bruno, Copyright, Mikkel Danker AKA Soulscience, and JoJo Flores (Gotsoul Miami) Emerging as one of the most sought out “up and coming” a dj talent in Miami, 2008 has brought Fontana trying his hand at production and has already began creating a buzz within the local circuit...

Recently, Johnny has been working with the high dance definition radio based in Miami www.mix58fm.com and hosts weekly shows and broadcasts to the Latin American region.
